Last update: 17.06.2024.
This tutorial is meant to make your interaction with the platform as easy as possible. We made sure that the user journey is straightforward without unnecesery paths that could stray you away from your main goal. Publishing your story comes down to a few simple steps. Without further ado lets begin.
When your media house gets approved to be on our platform you will get your username and your password that will be used for the first login. You will be able to change your password afterwards.
When landed on the home page, in the top right corner you will notice two blue buttons. One is for logging into the account and the other one is for account registration.
What you need to click on is the login button and you will be redirected to the login page.
Here just enter your credentials and you will be logged in.
After you fill in the login form and submit it you will be automatically redirected to your account page.
Now that we are on your profile we can start exploring.
The first thing that you can do is to update your profile with more information like a profile image and a short bio about your media house. This is done by going to the profile settings option.
On this page, you will have the option to either change or update your profile information. After filling in the changes just click on the “Update Profile” button and your profile will be updated.
This is a good time to change your original password. Note that it’s better to have a strong password that is not easy to crack so you are sure that you are the only one using your account.
When finished updating your profile you can start exploring the stories submitted by your users.
To begin reading stories go to the “Stories” in the upper menu.
You will see a list of the existing stories that were made by the users that registered trough your banner.
The first thing you will notice is the category filter. These are the predefined categories you provided us with before your account was created. When users write their stories they have the option to choose in which categories their story will be.
Depending on wether the category has posts it will be visible. If the categorie is empty that category will not be displayed in the filter until it has at least one story in it.
Below the filters, there is a listing of stories. In the square box, there are a few elements:
By clicking on the title or the button you will be taken to the story page.
When on the story single page (actual story content page) you will notice a different layout.
On top of the page you will see your contributors profile image, email address and a button to the contributors public profile.
These informations are there in case you want to connect with this contributor for any information regarding the story.
If you go to the contributors profile you will be able to see his or hers email, phone and a country of origin.
Below that you can read about the contributor from the biography part of the profile.
Lastly but the most important part of the contributors profile is the “Submitted Articles” section where you are able to see all the articles submitted by that particular contributor.
Lets go back to the story itself.
The next section is dedicated to the story content.
When writing a story, your contributors have an option to submit different content formats to the story’s main body.
They have four main formats that they will be able to use and those are:
They are displayed depending on what user uploaded in his or hers story.
For example if they only wrote text and didn’t choose to upload audio or video, in the part regarding audio and video there will only be an empty placeholder.
Now we are moving to the most important part regarding interaction with the contributor.
At the bottom of the page, you will see a post status changer.
This part enables you to move the article submitted by your contributor trough phases.
The way you do this is very simple. All you need to do is to click on the phase box and the color of the box and the progress bar will change when you do.
After you changed the status all you need to do is to click the “Update Status” button above the progress bar.
This action will do two main things:
The process of gathering information, sources and material is long but with the notification to the user on every status change he or she can track the progress and stay motivated to write more stories.
Thats it happy editing!
